Certificate for the Training of Child Development Practitioners
This course is jointly organized by the Institute of Professional and Vocational Education and Lifelong Learning (IPVELL) of The Education University of Hong Kong and EDGE Clinical Solutions, with Caritas Hong Kong serving as a co-organizer. It is primarily designed for professionals working in child development.
The course aims to:
• Equip participants with fundamental knowledge of child development and help them identify individual learning differences.
• Teach participants how to design and implement effective tutoring strategies and group activities to promote the overall development of students.
• Establish appropriate teaching boundaries through professional ethics and risk management training to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
A variety of teaching and learning activities—including lectures, case discussions, workshops, and scenario simulations—will be used throughout the course.
Details for the Second Semester of the 2025-2026 academic year:
Dates:30/11、7/12、14/12、4/1 、18/1 (Sundays).
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Lunch break: 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.).
Sessions and Hours: One session in the morning and one in the afternoon, each lasting 3 hours; 30 hours in total over 5 weeks; plus 8 hours of practical training.
Teaching Language: Cantonese
Venue: Caritas Caine Road Community Centre (2nd Floor, Caritas Building, 2 Caine Road).

Target: Current after-school care service tutors employed in schools or those interested in becoming after-school care service tutors.

Interested individuals should complete the registration form. Upon successful registration, a confirmation and payment notification email will be sent by IPVELL within 3-5 working days.
*The University shall have the final decision on whether a student’s programme/course application is accepted.
